Group of spring skiiers headed to the mountain while dressed in warm weather gear.

Arapahoe Basin
With a base elevation at 10,500 feet, a max summit elevation of 13,050 feet, and copious amounts of north-facing terrain, Arapahoe Basin is home to Colorado’s longest ski and ride season, routinely open into June — even as late as the Fourth of July. A-Basin, as the locals know it, is the place to be for late-season events, like the Shakin’ at the Basin spring concert series, 35th Annual Enduro & Après Party, and bluebird days spent at the parking lot “beach.” Bring your grills, coolers, and dogs for a quintessential Colorado mountain tailgate scene — costumes and bikinis encouraged.

Aspen Snowmass
Concerts & competitions, ax throwing & night skiing, snow golf & snow beach parties galore — if you get bored in the springtime at Aspen Snowmass, it’s your own fault. March brings the resort’s Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series to Snowmass Base Village and Gondola Plaza with big-name musical artists, like Shakey Graves. Not into the music scene but still down for a good time? Each of the four mountains hosts its own closing day party — a fan favorite, the Elk Camp Surf & Snow Beach Party, complete with leis, hot tubs, and margarita blender bikes.

Blue Mountain, Ontario, Canada
Spring means March Break at Blue Mountain Resort and with events like the four-day Big Air Show, Canada knows how to throw down. Gather around Smart Alec trail base to watch as Ontario greats slay the XL Big Air Jump, backlit by bright lights and serenaded by good tunes. Later in March, you can help close out a great season with the Red Bull Slopesoakers rail jam–pond skim contest, followed by the Ikon Pass Holder Appreciation BBQ and Retro Pond Skim. Flash your Ikon Pass to grab a free burger — and don’t forget your best retro ’fit.

Crystal Mountain
Prepare yourself for a fabulous weekend in Washington at MTN PRIDE: Pride in the Pow — three days of mid-day après parties, group ski & ride lessons, and even a lip sync & drag performance to celebrate Crystal Mountain’s LGBTQIA+ community. And don’t forget to secure your ticket to the resort’s annual Nachtspektakel, translated to “night spectacular” in German — the traditional European ski event that begins with downhill in the dark and ends with hot toddies around the fire.
* Get immediate Buy Now, Ride Now access with purchase of 24/25 Ikon Pass. Ikon Base Pass not eligible. 24/25 Ikon Pass will go on sale in early March.

Deer Valley

Round up your crew and relive your spring skiing while sipping on signature High West whiskey cocktails, served straight from their vintage Airstream bar. And if you’re over 21, don’t miss the weekend-long Fire and Ice Après Ski event, a Moët Hennessy collab with specialty sips and live entertainment.
* Get Buy Now, Ride Now access starting April 8, 2024 with purchase of 24/25 Ikon Pass. Ikon Base Pass not eligible. 24/25 Ikon Pass will go on sale in early March.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
After a day of shredding Jackson Hole’s legendary, sun-drenched steep terrain, slip into your party pants for some slopeside tuneage underneath the Aerial Tram at the resort’s Road to Rendezvous concert series, every Saturday in March. All this music goodness summits with the free two-day Rendezvous Music Festival, this year featuring indie rock heroes The Head and The Heart, Jamestown Revival, Mt. Joy, Luke Grimes, and Niko Moon at two iconic locations — Jackson’s historic town square and at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Killington
Many New England resorts close by May, but the Beast of the East, Killington, is also affectionately known as “The King of Spring” in that neck of the woods, always aiming to keep the slopes open until June. Each Spring, it’s tradition for skiers and riders to rip down Superstar’s slushy bumps for the Dazed and Defrosted festival and the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge — come early for the tailgating and stay late for the live music. And don’t miss the Woodward Wind Down at Peace Park; complete with jam session, it’s promising to be a day full of spring stoke.

Mammoth Mountain
Take a trip to the Eastern Sierra in the springtime, and you’ll get a taste of Mammoth’s signature “Second Season” soft snow that, some say, rivals even the deepest powder days. Early April offers Mammoth Mountain’s Caldera Burn ski mountaineering (“ski mo”) challenge and the surprisingly competitive pond skim, where the first 50 costumed skiers and riders propel themselves across a 100-plus-foot pond at Canyon Lodge. With one of the United States’ longest ski seasons, it’s not unusual to be chasing the sun and carving icy corn nuggets into late July.

Inspired and created by legendary surfer and Bend local, Gerry Lopez, this jam-style competition features a custom-built course with gnarly wave-live features and ends with a fun luau BBQ and awards ceremony. A couple more mustn’t-miss spring hits include music and mountain lifestyle tour, Subaru Winterfest, and RendezVan — Mt. Bachelor’s four-day festival in May that celebrates its committed community of RVers, van-lifers, and slushy slope-goers.

Palisades Tahoe
Pack up your goggles, paddle boards, and bikinis and head out to Palisades Tahoe — also known as the Spring Skiing Capital®. With 6,000 acres of skiable terrain and North America’s largest alpine lake moments away from its base, Palisades Tahoe is the premier destination for multi-sport spring days. After you ski, ride, paddle, and repeat, après like you mean it on the Alpine Lodge Sun Deck. Palisades Tahoe also hosts WinterWonderGrass April 5–7, a three-day bluegrass concert with open-air mainstage at the base of the resort.

Then, later in April, you and your crew can get in on the fun at Red Bull Slopesoakers, the rail jam–pond skim competition, followed by the fun and family-friendly Superhero Slush Showdown.

Sun Valley is also proud to once-again host the U.S. Alpine National Championships at their historic resort — saddle up slopeside to help cheer on elite and next-gen ski racers vying for their rightful place on the U.S. National Team.

Stein holding competition contestant holds up two full beer steins.

The Highlands
Hit those slushy slopes hard, and then unwind with live music, food trucks, and craft beer at Hops & Highlands — a weekend packed with the Midwest’s best après events. You won’t want to miss this lower-Michigan tradition at The Highlands that raises a glass to some of the region’s best local breweries with dawn-till-dusk festivities, like stein hoisting and keg bowling.

Thredbo
Go down under for some of the Southern Hemisphere’s best snow at Thredbo Resort in southeast Australia. If you love spring skiing as much as we do, shout it from the mountaintop at Tremblant’s Corona Summit Party, complete with DJ, BBQ, brews, and views. Tremblant offers so many springy après-ski activities, like live music in its charming pedestrian village every weekend from mid-March through mid-April and an Easter Celebration with chocolate eggs and face painting.
