The winter ski and ride season arrived early in the Canadian Rockies. Mt Norquay and Lake Louise, two of SkiBig3's resorts, celebrated opening day in Canada over the weekend, turning on their lifts for the first time in the 19/20 season. SkiBig3 is the first Ikon Pass destination to open for winter, and pass holders can hit the slopes right now. Mt Norquay and Lake Louise Open Initially, SkiBig3 planned to kick off the season with Mt Norquay as the frontrunner on Nov. 1, followed by Banff Sunshine and Lake Louise on Nov. 8. But as the flurries continued, Lake Louise pushed their opening date up one week, making it one of their earliest openings ever. Cascade Chair at Mt Norquay started churning early, delivering skiers and riders to the first groomers of the season on Cascade run. While over at Lake Louise, Glacier Express Chair provided access to Wiwaxy, Bald Eagle, and Easy Street. Banff Sunshine Opens Nov. 8 The powder adventures continue this weekend as Banff Sunshine is scheduled to open on Friday.
