A Day On The Mountain During COVID-19

The Ikon Pass community is full of adventure seekers who thrive in the outdoors. We recharge with the spirit of the open sky and the quest for powder at our favorite destinations. As passionate skiers and riders, the mountains are our happy place.

While this winter may look different than others, skiers and riders still look to the mountains for an escape. You will experience some changes when you visit this season. These changes are meant to help keep guests, employees and community members healthy, and help protect the longevity of the season.

WHAT WILL BE DIFFERENT AT SKI RESORTS THIS SEASON?

Please familiarize yourself with each destination’s policies before you arrive. COVID-19 precautions will vary by country, state, province, and county.

Masks: Cover Up As Soon As You Arrive at the Destination

Masks are required at all Ikon Pass destinations. This includes all indoor and outdoor public spaces, lift and gondola lines, lodging common areas, and in restaurants when not seated to dine.

Social Distancing: Keep Your Distance in the Lift Lines, Village, and Lodging

Please maintain social distancing of at least six feet – about the length of adult skis – from anyone outside of your household when indoors or outdoors.

While lift lines naturally create social distancing while buckled into skis or snowboards, please be mindful of maintaining a six foot distance with outers from our side your party while waiting in a gondola line.  Plan to only ride with members of your household in a gondola, and with empty seats between you and those not in your party on a chairlift.

Dining: Order and Make Reservations Through Your Ikon Pass Mobile App

To provide a seamless dining experience this winter, many destination restaurants are offering mobile ordering for food and beverage and dining reservation options through the Ikon Pass app. Make sure to download the app before heading to the mountain to see what restaurants are participating in this new feature. Please consider that many restaurants are take-out only and seating may be limited to outdoors.

HOW IS COVID-19 AFFECTING SKI OPERATIONS?

This winter, destinations have implemented new and mandated policies and procedures to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Reservations: Plan Ahead and Be Flexible

Some Ikon Pass destinations require reservations this season. Each Ikon Pass destination that requires reservations for the 20/21 season sets their own Ikon Pass capacity numbers as well as determines what products are available for purchase at the resort on any given day. Capacity numbers are often determined by available terrain, day of the week, county regulations and other factors.

If you are unfortunately not able to make a reservation on a selected day through the Ikon Pass reservation system, it means that the allotment given to Ikon Pass by the destination on that day has already been fully reserved. Please continue to check back as inventory can open up based on pass holder cancelations or destination inventory increases.

New Year, Different Offerings

Due to COVID-19, many mountain activities have been scaled back or closed for the season, so plan ahead. Most impacted are ski lessons with reduced class capacity and frequency.  Please check out a destination’s website in advance to review policies and to reserve lessons in advance.

With our collective love for the mountains and commitment to following guidelines, winter will carry on.
